Booking a group (2 or more) is quick and easy. As well as booking a group to attend together (on the same day and at the same test centre), it's also possible to select each candidate to attend on different dates and at different test centres if required.
Simply go to the booking page, fill in the form and review/complete your booking.

If your card is due to or has expired, to renew the card you will need to take the correct test.

The Operatives covers all common trades such as Labourers, Bricklayers, Carpenters, Painters & Decorators, Groundworkers and many more (including Cleaners and other construction related occupations), along with being suitable for the most popular CSCS cards: Green CSCS Card, Blue CSCS Card, Gold CSCS Card, Yellow CSCS Card and Red CSCS Card.


The only time you may need to take another test other than Operatives, is if you are any of those listed below:
- Manager or Professional = Managers & Professionals Test
- Supervisor = Supervisor Test
- Plumber = Plumbing/Gas Test
- Demolition = Demolition Test
- Highways = Highway Works Test
- Scaffolder / Roofer = Working at Height Test
- HVACR = HVACR Test

The Operative Test can be taken with a choice of many languages in the form of a voice over (including English).

The languages available are:

When booking, please select 'Operative' in the exam type field, then choose your desired Language in the language selection.

- Blue Skilled CSCS Card
- Gold Advanced CSCS Card
- Red CSCS Card (Trainee, Apprentice, Experienced)


The only time you may need to take another test other than Operatives, is if you are any of those listed below:

There are many types of CSCS Cards (Green, Blue, Gold, Red, Black, White).

Remember: Before you can apply for a card, you must take the correct test. (click here to find out)

The most common CSCS Card is the Green CSCS Card (Labourer) - this is used for labourers, along with many other trade/occupations and candidates who do not hold formal qualifications and cannot apply for a higher level card.

Candidates are required to bring one form of Primary ID listed below showing your full name, a recognisable photograph and signature:

• Passport (UK or International)
   or
• Photocard Driving Licence (UK or European)
   or
• Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Biometric Residence Card (BRC) only to beused as primary ID with a signature

* If you have a test scheduled and are unable to meet the ID requirements from the options provided below, you must contact us a minimum of 5 working days prior to your testing date to be eligible to postpone/reschedule *

What to do if you DO NOT have a Passport or UK Drivers Licence?

If you do not have the required form of Primary ID, you may present two forms of Secondary ID. This must include one from List A and one from List B.

• The first and last name that the candidate uses to register must match exactly the first and last name on the ID that is presented on test day. You will need two items of valid ID (no more than 6 months out of date), one from List A and one from List B below:

List A: (photographic ID)
- Non-UK/Non-EU Photocard Driving Licence
- Passport without signature
- European National Identity Card
- CitizenCard or other proof of age card showing the PASS hologram
- Young Scot Card showing the PASS hologram
- CSCS card or CSCS Partner card showing the CSCS
Logo (Hologram)
- UK Armed Forces ID card
- UK Armed Forces Veteran ID Card
- UK Home Office Travel Document
- Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Biometric Residence Card (BRC) without asignature


List B:
- Credit Card
- Debit Card
- UK Paper Driving Licence (issued before 31 March 2000)

All documents presented as identification must be originals (no photocopies or digitalcopies), be in date (valid / not expired) and be in your name (which must match the nameon the test booking).

If none of the above alternatives are available to the candidate, there is one other option of a waiver form. This can be printed out, filled in and then used at the test centre (please ensure you read and complete this correctly when using it as a form of ID for your test).
